HOW WE BEGAN?
Scenario
According to Department For Transport statistical release, running traffic lights contributes to the majority of traffic accidents and injuries.

What is even getting worse is ---- due to the growing number of vehicles and increasing law enforcement cost, the burden on society can be heavier if we do not take actions.
Inspiration
Many IoT applications have redefined the way we live and our lives become much smarter than ever before. For example, users can pay electricty and gass bills through Alipay; drivers can pay passing fees of the high speed roads through ETC; cooks can weigh ingredients through smart scales.

How we integrate?
Applying IoT technologies to monitor and record running traffic lights offences can not only help authority department to manage database but also enable drivers to receive relevant information in time.

HOW BENEFITS?
For Government
Remedy to Severe Situation
More than one thousand people die of car accidents every year and majority of accidents were caused by violating traffic light signals. Our solution is the remedy you are looking for.

High Efficiency
Our product can precisely and automatically monitor and record running red light for authorities. Full automation can reduce costs and time significantly, switching to focus of authorities to more urgent priorities.

Low Cost
Our solution is financially attractive because it will not incur significant charges during the traffic system upgrade. In the long-term, only small labour and maintenance costs are required.

Environmental Friendly
Paperless notification means tons of papers can be saved and generate positive environmental effect, helping countries to meet European Union 2030 Emission Target.

HOW IT WORKS
01
On the Scene
When accidents happen, it is usually a cross road where a vehicle is crossing while the traffic light is red. If our system is in place, the load cell scale sensor buried under the white stop line would be able to detect the weight of the vehicle and therefore trigger the camera to capture photo-graphical evidences.
Data Transmission
All hardware devices on the scene as well as all external devices are connected to the Internet, transmitting data seamlessly among different parties. Once images of a suspected vehicle are captured, evidences will be sent to the MQTT-like server (usually managed by the local traffic police department) to be manually or automatically (AI) processed. We are aware that the safety of the data transmission is crucial to the system, and thus we use TLS certificate encryption to establish a secure connection. Once the offence is confirmed, details of the case will be sent to the client's device.
02
03
User Interface
An mobile app has been designed specifically for our application . When the image is captured, a notification will be automatically sent from the server to the driver (or the owner of the vehicle). Notification includes details of the case, such as exact time and date, vehicle type, location, penalty and due date for penalties. Photo-graphical evidences will also appear in the notification. Additionally, user can review historical records on the Profile page of the App.
